Our Story
We’re Kim and Robert—American-born, proudly Irish at heart. Both our great-grandparents (my paternal, his maternal) came from Ireland, with long family lineage stretching from Dublin to the heart of Mayo County. The Moore and Carney surnames run through our story like a good cup of tea: strong, simple, and warmly shared.
Ireland isn’t just a place we visit; it’s the thread that ties our families together. I (Kim) live and work in the States, but I spend at least two months each year back in Ireland with family and friends, gathering stories, recipes, and the occasional new paint color. Robert shares that same pull toward his roots—and he’s my partner in every plan, from floorboards to finishing touches. If a wall needed moving, we moved it; if a floor creaked, we coaxed it into step. (Measure twice, try again… you know the drill 🤣 )
2019 — Falling for Greenane
In 2019, we fell head over heels for Greenane House and chose the slow, honest route: remodeling it room by room. Walls were torn out, floors replaced, as we let the house tell us what it wanted to be. Friends and family pitched in with sleeves rolled up—equal parts love, laughter, and sweat equity—until each space felt true to the home’s bones and our Irish heritage.
What you’ll find here is simple: rooms shaped by stories; welcoming spaces meant for gathering; small nods to Kerry County’s spark and the easy calm of Southwest Ireland. Greenane is modern where it matters and timeless where it counts, with an open door and a warm hello.
And we’re still at it, because a home built on love and lineage is always a work in progress (the good kind). Céad míle fáilte—a hundred thousand welcomes—to you. May your stay be every bit as lovely as the memories we’ve made bringing Greenane to life.
Have a question about the house or our journey? We love to share.
