Last updated: November 10, 2025

House Rules

  • Check-in: 4:00 PM (or later).
  • Check-out: 10:00 AM. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate early arrival or late departure as the house requires a minimum of 5.5 hours to clean before the next group arrives. Thank you for understanding.
  • No pets: the owner is severely allergic to dogs and cats.
  • No smoking inside the house.
  • No 21st, hen, or stag parties.
  • No candles.

Helpful Hints

  • Cleaning crew will arrive promptly at 10:00 AM on check-out day.
  • House Information Notebook: important guidance on emergencies, fireplace use, and more — please read.
  • Bathrooms: please do not flush nappies down the toilets.
  • Floors: tile can be cool — you may wish to bring slippers.
  • Linens: spray tan and heavy makeup may stain fine linens; if stains cannot be removed, the replacement/extra cleaning cost is charged to you.

Waste & Recycling

  • Kitchen bins: the trash cupboard is beside the dishwasher.
  • Non-recycle: use the large bins.
  • Food waste: small left-side bin (front).
  • Broken glass: small left-side bin (back).
  • Recycling: the recycle bin is next to the glass bins in the dining room.

Appliances & Utilities

  • Stove switch: to power the stove top, flip the switch on the wall to the left of the stove cabinet.
  • Tumble dryer: empty the condenser and lint drawers before each cycle for efficient drying. Please take care when removing/placing the condenser in the door so the tabs don’t break.
  • Dehumidifier (lower level): feel free to empty if you prefer drier air.

Showers & Hot Water

Showers should be staggered. Taking too many at once can overtax the water heater and you may run out of hot water.

  • The 2nd-floor water heater is independent from the other floors.
  • We suggest the group take 3–4 showers simultaneously between the main and lower floor, then allow about 30 minutes for the water heater to rebuild.

Heating & Fuel Oil

  • The first 50 litres of fuel oil are included in your stay.
  • Please do not change the heat settings; they’re set for the current season. For extra warmth, use the fireplace or electric heaters and keep bedroom/lounge doors closed.
  • If you exceed the included amount, the charge is €1.50 per litre. Payment for any overage is appreciated — cash can be left in an envelope near the meter.

If you have any questions about heating, just let us know and we’ll help optimise comfort and efficiency.

Safety & Children

  • There is a small ravine at the bottom of the backyard hill that is unsafe for small children. Please use caution if children play in the lower level of the yard or in the hedges alongside the house.

Have a wonderful time making great memories!
